Made in Europe and North Africa

In a September 2022 Financial Times article on Zara parent Inditex, CEO Oscar García confirmed that the company continues to source “long-haul” basics from Asia, while manufacturing its quick-response production of fashion items at factories in Spain and Portugal as well as sites close to Europe in Turkey and Morocco.

AOC assumes that these fashion beauties are manufactured in the quick-response countries that are also more committed to improving sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices.

Certified 100% European Grown Linen

European-grown linen is a natural fiber that does not require irrigation. It is grown without using genetically modified seeds and avoids synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. It is produced in Western Europe according to the EUROPEAN FLAX® standard of the Alliance for European Flax and Hemp.

Inditex is working on organic cotton in India and Zara has promised a high bar sustainability reach in its fabrics by 2025.

It makes no sense that they would pollute high-grade linen with low-grade cotton, but AOC cannot confirm the cotton used in the linen/cotton blend.
