In early 2020, supermodel Amber Valletta became British Vogue’s first Contributing Sustainability Editor. She recently left IMG, who represented her since 2015, moving to Society Management.
Valetta serves as an adviser to One x One, The Conscious Design Initiative in partnership with the U.N., is a board member of the FIT Foundation and is an FIT Sustainability Education Ambassador. The eco warrior’s new collab with the Karl Lagerfeld brand ‘Karl Lagerfeld x Amber Valletta’ is due out this month, but hasn’t arrived at the Karl Lagerfeld website. A sign-up notification is at the bottom of this page.
AOC has spent over 30 minutes trying our best to determine whether or not Valletta’s Dior-rich fashion story has any significant sustainability credentials. British Vogue’s April issue fashion story ‘Women of the House’ — an ode to lockdown house dresses — has none, but for considerable hand-crafted workmanship. If AOC is in error, shoot us a message and we’ll correct at once.. For now, we admit the rare research defeat and share Craig McDean’s [IG] images of Valleta in Dior with styling by Dena Gianni.
