Archaeology in West Africa May Cause a Human Evolution, Research Rewrite
The editorial is a nice punctuation to an article AOC just posted about new research taking a look at human evolution out of Africa and the role of West Africa. East Africa has long been considered to be the gateway of humanity’s migration out of Africa, although what is today South Africa has delivered major new discoveries affirming that the continent of Africa is a vast expanse and we now understand that humanity evolved in many parts of Africa simultaneously. Little has been known about West Africa, however, and these new discoveries will absolutely have impact on our understanding of human origins.
I just Googled and the continent of Africa is larger than the United States, China and Brazil combined.
AOC should know this fact, but At 30.2 million square kilometers, its land mass covers 20.4 percent of the earth's total land area. The population of Africa numbers 1 billion, while the North American continent is home to 528 million humans. ~ Anne
