On September 5, American “it girl” Sofia Richie Grainge [IG] became an ambassador for jeweler David Yurman [IG], fronting the David Yurman Sculpted Cable Collection.

Photographer Glen Luchford [IG] shot Richie Grainge in the David Yurman Fall 2023 campaign at the Kellogg Doolittle House in Joshua Tree, California. Designed by Kendrick Bans Kellogg for Beverly and Jay Doolittle in 1988, the organic architecture house wasn’t completed until 2014.

Like Sofia Richie Grainge herself, Doolittle House took time to complete itself. The on-fire TikTok influencer’s famous personal style didn't appear out of nowhere, or with a lucky break. Yes, her father is mega musician Lionel Richie. Even with the support of her famous family, Richie Grainge has invested considerable time in defining what it is that she does best, while staying real to herself.

“I’ve definitely honed [it] the last few years," she told Harper’s Bazaar. "Naturally, our tastes evolve, but I don’t believe in jumping on a trend just because it’s what everyone else is wearing. I think it’s important to be your own person and recognize when something does or doesn’t feel true to you.”

“I really enjoy ‘70s and ‘80s style—the way they expressed themselves and had fun with fashion has been a big source of inspiration for me,” she says.

David Yurman’s Brooklyn Bridge Cables Inspo

“While on set for the campaign shoot, I learned that David Yurman’s original twisted cable design was created more than 40 years ago and was inspired by the twisted metal ropes of the Brooklyn Bridge,” Richie Grainge explains for the new campaign. “When I learned that David was a sculptor, it all just clicked, like, Aha! You can really see that in the shape, the lines, the level of care and detail in each and every piece.

Her David Yurman Sculpted Cable collection includes sleek twisted bangles, hoop earrings, and rings in yellow, rose, and white gold, with and without hand-set pavé diamonds.

“The collection is incredibly versatile—whether you’re in jeans and a T-shirt or getting dressed up, each piece feels like a statement and effortlessly chic. Something about the smooth, sculptural design just feels and looks so elegant,” Richie tells the press, adding that she especially loves “the bracelets for stacking.”

David Yurman At Casa Cruz

The evening of September 7, David Yurman celebrated the launch of their Sculpted Cable collection at NYC’s Casa Cruz, the stunning beaux-arts townhouse on 61st Street, between Park and Madison Avenues.

Sofia Richie co-hosted the evening with Evan Yurman, the founder’s son, who became president of David Yurman in 2021.

For her dinner Sofia channeled Parisian chic vibes, wearing the ‘Black Band-collar Single-breasted Blazer’ from Dolce & Gabbana. Staying true to her embrace of elevated minimalism, Richie Grainge paired the very short ‘blazer dress’ with black court shoes and a black satin headband.

Elevated minimalism need not communicate dowdy. Nowhere was that point made more clear than with Sofia’s rare black Hermès Kelly Envelope bag.
