Paltrow is glammed up in lean 70s styling by Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou and captured through the lens of Alexi Lubomirski for Harper’s Bazaar UK, March 2001.
Gwyneth Paltrow compares playing an ex-addict in ‘Country Strong’ to quitting her smoking habit.
“I understand how you can do something bad for you because I smoked forever. I smoked even when my dad had throat cancer. I was like ‘I know this is probably going to kill me, but I’m going to smoke it anyway.’ But I didn’t understand wrecking other people’s lives, and then kind of just waking up and tying your shoes. So he helped me figure that out.”
We assumed Paltrow’s young-woman osteoporosis was caused by her weight but smoking is a major risk factor as well. Paltrow gave up smoking when pregnant with her daughter Apple in 2003.
