Woman | Cindy Crawford | Miguel Reveriego | Harper's Bazaar Feb 2010
/Conveniently, we have a great comparison of two wonderful models side by side: Cindy Crawford and Andrej Pejic. I released Andrej’s Dossier Journal editorial images and popped over to Vogue Italia where I was greeted by Cindy Crawford on V Curvy.
Crawford reflects openly about the size 0 model revolution, reminding us that size 4-6 was hot and desireable for the Supermodels. Today breasts remain a problem, which has certainly helped the career of Andrej Pejic — who has tremendous charisma and command of the camera. If Andrej was a 34B, he would still dominate the lens.
Lara Stone gives us hope for a more inclusive vision of beauty in the coming years. I believe the Internet and smart-ass, intellectual writing from the courageous — or stupid, depending on your pov — will bury this narrow-vision coffin of fashion womanhood six-feet deep, which is where it belongs.
To read again and again that this woman’s body is owned by someone without self-discipline — the potato chip eating mommy crowd — affirms my assertion that these women had to be knocked off their pedestals because they had too much self-confidence. Hence, the downsizing.
