Phoebe Philo's September Return Taps Top Model Alter Ego Daria Werbowy

As creative director of Celine before Hedi Slimane, Phoebe Philo and top model Canadian-Ukrainian, born in Poland Daria Werbowy became visual alter egos.

That visual and psychological synergy is set for a September 2023 reunion with the return of Phoebe Philo’s eponymous brand.

Daria Werbowy returns as the Face of Phoebe Philo’s new namesake brand.

Although Daria Werbowy has been away from modeling for several years, leading a low-key life in Canada, Phoebe Philo’s cult following is thrilled that the two women are returning together for the long-awaited new signature collection.

In an earlier article, AOC reported that the resale value of any products associated with Celine brand under Philo has remained high.

Hedi Slimane has taken Celine in a very different direction that has also been very financially successful for LVMH. So there is no real competition between the two brands, and LVMH has high praise for Slimane.

WWD writes that Philo’s collection of impeccable must-haves for modern women will include ready-to-wear, leather goods, jewelry, eyewear and footwear.

Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH, has called Phoebe Philo “one of the most talented designers of our time”, making it clear that LVMH is the delighted minority investor in her new venture.

“We have known her and appreciated her for a long time. Phoebe contributed to the success of the group through her magnificent creations over several years,” he said. “With this in mind, I am very happy to partner with Phoebe on her entrepreneurial adventure and wish her great success.”

The British designer said she would create clothing and accessories "rooted in exceptional quality and design," adding: "I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere. To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is hugely significant to me."

Philo will reconnect with her very best customers from Celine in the online business. Presumably, personal showings are also planned for that clientele.
