Hector Muelas Rejoins Alexandre Arnault as Tiffany & Co. Chief Brand Creative Director
/Hector Muelas is now Chief Brand Creative Director of Tiffany & Co. Writing a lengthy post on LinkedIn, confirmed by Tiffany, Muelas set the tone for his return to LVMH:
"One of the world's most storied luxury design houses, globally recognized for its extraordinary craftsmanship, innovative jewelry design and unparalleled creativity, Tiffany has given us the world's best diamonds and the design of the Great Seal of the United States, Warhol and Basquiat, Audrey Hepburn and the Medal of Honor, the Tiffany setting and the Vince Lombardi trophy, Picasso and Peretti, the French Crown Jewels and Beyoncé, modern gemology and Nike, Deco and Nouveau, Schlumberger and Kuntz, Rolex and Patek, the blue box and the white ribbon."
Muelas arrives at Tiffany & Co with a storied resume that includes positions at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Rimowa, Apple, Creative Artists Agency, Donna Karan International, Vice Media and more. Muelas joined Expedia Group as senior vice president of global marketing and creative in 2021.
At Rimowa, Muelas held the same title of Chief Brand Creative Director and would have worked with Alexandre Arnault, who was CEO of Rimowa at age 28. The youngest Arnault — and a prodigious business talent — is now Executive Vice President of Product and Communications at Tiffany & Co.
At Rimowa, Hector Muelas had great impact on creating the heart and soul of the brand, as well as working with major sports figures like LeBron James and Roger Federer. Although both Muelas and Arnault are gone from Rimowa, the brand is thriving with the values-driven DNA, as well as sustainability initiatives and lifetime guarantees instituted under Alexandre Arnualt’s tenure.
The arrival of Muelas at Tiffany & Co sounds like another expression of creative synergy about to break loose with this seasoned, very well-connected team of business talent.
In February, Ruba Abu-Nimah stepped down at Tiffany after two years in the executive creative director for marketing and communications role. In March, the jeweler named Moda Operandi cofounder Lauren Santo Domingo as its first artistic director in the home category.
