Lily Aldridge & Weekend Max Mara Make a Cali-Style Love Fest for Spring 2023

One of fashion’s nicest women Lily Aldridge joins forces with Weekend Max Mara in a smile-generating, warm-weather, global traveler collaboration “From Lily With Love.”

The project began with Lily’s love of three-piece suits and her focus on lifestyle dressing. “It’s about day to night, mix and matching, travelling, having fun and being able to pack everything that you need. They are just really easy, wearable, fun, effortless pieces,” Aldridge explains.

Photographer Zoey Grossman [IG] captures the California vibe collection that uses organic cotton and linen blends and other sustainable materials. AOC believes the denim is organic cotton denim, which uses less water, energy, and toxic chemicals than conventionally grown cotton. Rating groups also say workers are treated better.

The Los Angeles native emerges from a celebrated family of creators and an interesting background, which is important to Weekend Max Mara. Lily’s father was the accomplished British illustrator Alan Aldridge, who did not specialize in English botanicals.

Tatler calls him “one groovy cat”. In 1968 he launched his own graphic-design firm, INK, used frequently by the Beatles. Alan Aldridge had a brood of kids spread over three wives and more.

We know about Lily’s brother fashion photographer Miles Aldridge and sister model Ruby Aldridge. Her mother Laura Lyons was a California-born Playboy Playmate of the Month in February 1976. Yes, Lily loves the Beatles, but she is also married to Caleb Followill since 2011, the frontman of the rock band Kings of Leon.

The Lily Aldridge AOC knows divides her time between New York City and Nashville, nurturing her daughter Dixie Pearl. Lily is well known for her philanthropy, partnering with causes close to her heart including St. Jude Children's Hospital and humanitarian initiatives such as No Kid Hungry, World of Children and Everytown for Gun Safety.

Weekend Max Mara promotes Lily’s story without promoting her father being “one groovy cat.” AOC added mom also. But now Lily’s love of these bold prints in her Weekend Max Mara “From Lily With Love” collection makes total sense. And they are gorgeous.

Gabriella Karefa-Johnson styles the campaign which is sophisticated but also very accessible. Lily Aldridge has never been an aloof model. Rather, she is a role model thriving in her own skin. No wonder she is beloved by all of us who like her Lauren Ralph Lauren campaigns. When Lily left Victoria’s Secret I know she hoped to do more collaborating. Weekend Max Mara comes as a wonderful partner for her, delivering a very wearable collection for us all. Including all that red! ~ Anne
