Harrison Ford for Glenmorangie Single Malt Whiskey by Lachlan Bailey
/Recently, I was browsing through Lachlan Bailey’s IG and was stopped cold by this wonderful campaign for Glenmorangie Single Malt Whiskey [IG]. The entire project was also broken down into a series of 12 episodic films by actor and film-maker Joel Edgerton and AOC’s intention is to post them all. Justin O’Shea, Creative Director Spirits Portfolio at Moët Hennessy [LVMH] represented Glenmorangie.
Not only did Lachlan Bailey take all the images in the campaign, but he wrote a wonderful, informative and seemingly, very-sincere narrative about his experience. I love it when photographers share details of their shoots and especially one this stupendous and full of human contact with one of our most culturally-relavant actors.
Note that I will not call Harrison Ford an icon — which he absolutely is.
As usual, digital culture has rendered the word ‘iconic’ to be now irrelevant as a descriptor. A model gets one cover and she’s a supermodel. With the second cover, she becomes an icon.
Back to Lachlan Bailey, kudos for him and his team. AOC loves liquor commercials — not only for their budgets — but they deal with real life experiences and cultural history with considerably more depth than fashion world.
Like Harrison’s age is a bfd in this project. And no one is flawless — least of all Harrison Ford. And yes, he flies his own helicopter in Scotland.
Wonderful work, LB.
