HTSI Magazine Celebrates Nicolas Ghesquière and 10 Years at Louis Vuitton
/As Louis Vuitton artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière [IG] celebrates his 10-year anniversary with the brand, as well as the renewal of his contract for another five years, HTSI Magazine [IG] launches a huge celebration around the designer, the label and the muses.

Models and talents expand on HTSI’s IG comments quoted on AOC in a separate online article. They appear in chronological order of their first project with Nicolas Ghesquire for Louis Vuitton.
One exception is the lead off with actor Jennifer Connelly, who first met the designer at Balenciaga.
The Power of 10: Jennifer Connelly
Actor and friend Jennifer Connelly has known Nicolas Ghesquire since 2002. The artistic director was then at Balenciaga, and he created a custom gown for her Oscar-winning performance in ‘A Beautiful Mind’.
“I really appreciated his vision and his confidence as a designer,” says Connelly.
The Power of 10: Rianne Van Rompaey
Dutch model Rianne Van Rompaey’s first appearance on any luxury brand runway was closing Nicolas Ghesquiere’s debut Louis Vuitton show in 2014.
“It’s quite emotional for me because his 10-year anniversary is also my 10-year anniversary in the industry,” Van Rompaey told HTSI.
The Power of 10: Doona Bae
The South Korean actor first met Nicolas Ghesquire at the Louis Vuitton cruise show at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco in 2014.
Doona Bae has appeared in Netflix hit series ‘Kingdom’ and ‘Sense8’ and is starring alongside Anthony Hopkins in the upcoming sci-fi film ‘Rebel Moon’. “He was so smiley and nice, and I just fell in love with his work,” she reflects.
Actor Alicia Vikander met Nicolas Ghesquire eight years ago. She models the opening look from the designer’s AW14 collection, which she wore at events promoting the 2015 kitchen drama ‘Burnt’with Vikander starring with Bradley Cooper.
The Power of 10: Léa Seydoux
French actor and Bond girl Léa Seydoux has worked with Nicolas Ghesquiere since 2016, appearing in a Louis Vuitton travel campaign.
“For me, he’s a real artist in the sense that he’s created his own language of fashion,” she says in this week's issue. “And I love that he’s inspired by so many things, from architecture to cinema to painting.”
The Power of 10: Mona Tougaard
Mona Tougaard is a global citizen at heart, blessed with Danish, Ethiopian, Somali and Turkish heritage. Tougaard first walked Louis Vuitton for AW19 and is now a regular.
“He just makes you feel comfortable,” Tougaard says about Nicolas Ghesquiere. Mona wears a coat from the Louis Vuitton archives, adding “It’s always like working with family.”
The Power of 10: Lous and the Yakuza
Belgian-Congolese Afro-Punk singer and rapper Lous and the Yakuza asked Nicolas Ghesquire to make the outfits for her most recent tour and album ‘Iota’. The designer was early to take note of the rapper’s prodigious talents, with Lous sitting front row at Louis Vuitton in January 2020.
Speaking of Ghesquiere, the mega-star in the making describes him as “a delight. He just understands who I am as an artist, and my style, and incorporates that into his vision.”
"I love how he always works with unconventional shapes and pairs something super-girly with something like this huge jacket to make it more edgy. It’s like you care and you don’t care at the same time.”

The Power of 10: Renata Reinsve
The Norwegian actor was ready to quit her preferred career for a new one in carpentry when she landed the lead role in Joachim Trier’s 2021 film ‘The Worst Person in the World’.
“Coming from Norway, where we have tall poppy syndrome and you’re not supposed to stand out, being in these clothes for the first time I feel very powerful,” she says of Nicolas Ghesquière’s creations.
Reinsve quickly became a Louis Vuitton ambassador.
The Power of 10: Ana de Armas
The Cuban-Spanish actor describes her first meeting with Louis Vuitton’s artistic director at the AW21 show as “love at first sight.”
“There’s this closeness to him,” the actor explained to HTSI. “He’s always hugging, and you just feel there is no façade there”.
The Power of 10: Haim
Indie rock band sisters Alana, Danielle and Este Haim became Louis Vuitton house ambassadors in 2022. “We grew up dressing ourselves and going to thrift stores trying to recreate his looks, so when we found out Louis Vuitton was interested in working with us, it was like this holy grail,” Danielle Haim told HTSI about their relationship with Ghesquiere. .
Sister Alana adds “It’s hard not to be happy in his clothes.”
