Georgina Rodriguez in GUESS Fall 2023 Campaign Has Great Mom Sensual Elegance
/Georgina Rodriguez met her life partner, soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, working in a Gucci store after his five-year relationship with Irina Shayk ended. At the time, Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid.
As part of her Netflix series I am Georgina, now in season two, Ronaldo tributes his partner, reflecting on their meeting: "I didn't think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong. That I would fall in love with her," Ronaldo shared during the first episode. "I didn't expect it honestly. But after a while I felt that she was the woman of my life."
The couple have birthed five children together and are also full-time parents of Cristiano Ronaldo’s first child from an earlier relationship.
In June 2017, the couple welcomed twins Mateo and Eva via surrogacy. Later that year, Rodriguez gave birth to their daughter, Alana Martina and in 2022, Rodríguez gave birth to twins in April. Their baby son tragically died during childbirth, while the girl twin, Bella Esmeralda, survived.
The couple both come from humble beginnings and have an incredibly-strong family orientation.
Georgina shared in a Netflix episode that Ronaldo would often pick her up from work in luxury cars when they first started seeing each other. "Many times he'd come after work," she described. "He would come, I remember once, once in a Bugatti. My coworkers went crazy. They get there on the bus, and I would leave in a Bugatti. I mean people couldn't believe it."
In 2019, Cristiano Ronaldo, who grew up “dirt poor”, set out to find the Portuguese women who fed him and his mates leftover McDonald’s hamburgers late at night. The restaurant was located next to his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon. One of the women came forward, describing Cristiano Ronaldo “who was perhaps the most timid of them all”.
Today these people live larger than life on IG and across media. Their original life stories can be very fascinating and inspiring. Georgina Rodriguez is also larger than life today in GUESS’s flagship store windows in Rome on Via del Corso. ~ Anne
