Daphne Groeneveld & Pascal Greggory | Peter Lindbergh | Numéro September 2011 | Hommage à Wim

Daphne Groeneveld delivers one of her finest editorials, lensed by Peter Lindbergh with actor Pascal Greggory in Hommage à Wim for Numéro September 2011. Greggory acted in a film called ’ pauline à la plage” (pauline at the beach)which may be the inspiration for Peter Lindbergh’s photo shoot.

In its poignant, sensually intimate connections between the young, nubile angel Daphne — who wears both white and black wings making her man’s savior and seductress — Lindbergh channels the eternal symbol of rejuvenation and rebirth represented by the young female ‘maiden’ .

Within the context of Numéro 126 focus on ‘heroines’, the gorgeous editorial resonates — not because Daphne Groeneveld has earned the title but because of the allegory she represents. Styling by Irina Marie.
