Adele Adkins | Mert & Marcus | Vogue US March 2012

British singer Adele Adkins, the woman Karl Lagerfeld calls ‘A Little Too Fat’ (he has since apologized after showing his true colors, as if we don’t know them when the topic of womanly bodies), is lensed by Mert & Marcus in a gorgeous editorial for Vogue US March issue.

I missed Anderson Cooper’s lamblasting of Karl Lagerfeld in his nightly ‘Ridiculist’ segment. Cooper called Lagerfeld an “Edward Gorey cartoon character” before coming to the 2012 six-grammy winner’s Smart Sensuality woman defense. Commenting on Adele, Cooper said:

She is a little too fat, but only in the brain!” he tried. “She has a really fat brain filled with knowledge!” Cooper then ran through some of Lagerfeld’s more eye-opening statements, such as that women who really want to change their looks for good should just get plastic surgery. He also read a quote of Lagerfeld saying, “do we have to know your opinion?”

“I could not have said it better myself,” Cooper said.
