Chooo-san Low-Tech Body Art Skin Illustrations

Japanese artist Chooo-san (see website), a 19-year-old Musashino Art University student, creates body modifications without using any digital editing software. Equipped with acrylic paints, inner vision and raw talent, Chooo-san paints directly onto human skin. Her works result in social commentary about the human body in a wide context of social mores and cultural influences like technology, societal efforts to control the human body and everyday living. Chooo-san does add props such as cords or buttons to heighten the believability of her skin illustrations.
