Aussie model Robyn Lawley’s beauty message to women is clear: beauty comes in many sizes. In fact, Lawley resents being called a plus-size model, rather than what she is by profession: a model.

Robyn Lawley at 6’2” and a size 12 is considerably slimmer than the average woman. But in the fashion industry, she is — well, a model who somehow can’t control her eating patterns.

Body image expert Robyn Silverman explains that instead of describing a clothing size, the term ‘plus size’ has morphed into a negative term associated with a woman’s character.

Lawley says she has tried. ‘Even at my lightest, I just couldn’t get there,’ she explains. ‘I genuinely really tried. I was counting calories, I was taking diet pills, I was dabbling in starvation.’
