ADL Confirms James Murdoch's $1 Million Gift & $1 Million Via His Email To Friends | Fox News Hires Alleged White Nationalist Sebastian Gorka

In August 2017, in the days after white nationalism raised its ugly head in Charlottesville, James Murdoch, CEO of 21st Century Fox sent an email to friends and colleagues that was leaked to media.

Commenting that he rarely discussed his family's charitable giving, Murdoch announced a pledge from him and his wife for $1 million to the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and urged others to also support the organization.

This week the ADL confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the Murdoch donation of $1 million was received, accompanied by almost another $1 million associated with Murdoch's email.

Hannity Beats Maddow In Monday Night Debut | Megyn Kelly Off & Running | Fox Confirms Ingraham 10PM Slot

9-2017

Rachel Maddow's 9 pm queen of cable news reign failed in its first test against Fox News Sean Hannity's debut in the 9pm hour Monday night, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Hannity won the battle for total viewers with Maddow trailing by 610,000 in viewers but had only 75,000 adults 25-54 deficit.

Ingraham Fills 10 PM Hannity Slot

The long-denied rumour that Laura Ingraham would be taking over Hannity's spot was confirmed by FNC last week. The program will be called 'The Ingraham Angle' and will debut Oct. 30.

Fox Denies That Laura Ingraham Is Set To Take 10 pm Slot, Moving Hannity To Face Off Against Rachel Maddow

CNN reports that Fox News commentator, radio host and Trump loyalist Laura Ingraham is set to replace Sean Hannity in the 10 pm time slot at Fox. Unidentified sources tell CNN that Hannity will move to the 9 pm hour, putting him head-to-head with Rachel Maddow at MSNBC.

"The Five" will return to its original time slot, now that Eric Bolling has left the Fox News, after a month-long investigation into claims that Bolling sent male genitalia texts with saucy comments to other female staffers at Fox.

Fox News denies the rumour, saying there is "no deal in place with Ingraham, who has her own charges of sexual harassment against her partner Peter Anthony at LifeZette, reportsThe Daily Beast.  Ingraham has also indicated an interest in the 2018 Senate race against Democratic incumbent and former Hillary Clinton running mate Tim Kaine, according to the Washington Post. A Fox gig would seemingly close that door -- now seriously complicated by charges against her business partner.

Eric Bolling Out At Fox. Male Media Tarzans Overpowered By Whip Smart Women Bonobos

If you can't live without watching MSNBC's Rachel Maddow -- the most-watched anchor in cable news -- or weekends are not the same without MSNBC's Joy-Ann Reid, you are probably thrilled to see a heavy-duty dose of estrogen in major media as we contend with life in Trumplandia.

Writing for Vanity Fair, James Wolcott is far more eloquent in 'Why Women Journalists Are Ascendant In The Age Of Trump': "The me-Tarzan heyday of political broadcast journalism’s “big swinging dicks” (to borrow Michael Lewis’s hallowed term) has entered its twilight phase, a long-overdue development obvious to everyone except those little swinging dicks who keep injuring themselves trying to perpetuate the old swagger."

Large numbers of those "big swinging dicks" congregated at  Fox News, who cut its ties with its latest alleged bad boy Eric Bolling on Friday. Bolling was busted in a Huffington Post expose published a month ago by Yashar Ali.

Fourteen sources confirmed allegations that Bolling sent female colleagues at Fox, lewd texts with an image of male genitalia. In filing a lawsuit against Yashar Ali, Bolling turned to Trump's personal lawyer Marc E. Kasowitz.

Wolcott unleashes his commanding vocabulary against Trump's alpha males, writing: "Throughout his entire Fox News career Bolling typified the “gorilla mind-set” espoused by macho paleo blogger Mike Cernovich in his book of the same name, an ode to alpha dominance that found its golden fulfillment in the candidacy and presidency of Donald Trump, the gorilla mind-set being the Wagnerian prelude to achieving what Cernovich heralds in his follow-up book as the “MAGA mind-set”—the inner power of Trumpian transformation that elevates the alphas from the also-rans. Thanks to the flubbering failure of Trump himself, the MAGA mind-set now resembles melted cheese, a glop of congealed ego and spilt religion."

Update Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017: In a very sad twist in the Eric Bolling story, his son Eric Chase Bolling Jr. was found dead in Boulder on Friday night in a reported by TMZ, and sourced by People magazine, drug overdose.

Will Megyn Kelly Connect With 'Today Show' Women, 25-30% Latino & African American

Will Megyn Kelly Connect With 'Today Show' Women, 25-30% Latino & African American

The argument that Megyn Kelly's starpower is so great that viewers would tune in on NBC is already disavowed, Andrew Tyndall told The Daily Beast.  “The stardom of the celebrity anchor was a phenomenon of the 1980s back when [flamboyant ABC News president] Roone Arledge was around. In this day and age, the shows make the anchors, not the other way around.”

Still, Kelly has the protection of The Today Show cocoon as her lead-in. Another daytime veteran told Grove, "he’s going to have to adapt to the live audience, she will have to be more entertaining, and that will be a learning curve for her. The ultimate question is whether she connects with women in daytime.”

The gender-challenge is a potentially major one, as Kelly's success at Fox was to a primarily audience. That reality was never more obvious than when viewers turned against Megyn in her serious debate conflicts and Twitter-storm with then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“A lot of people were watching the magazine show to try to get a sense of her appeal to the daytime demographic and a sense of how she would be outside of the Fox environment,” said a veteran daytime television impresario, who noted that the nationwide audience in that time period is not only heavily female but from 25 to 30 percent African American and Latino. “Fox News skews very male… I always tend to think of her as more of a guy’s girl than a girl’s girl… It’s extremely challenging, and I’m not sure Megyn’s personality really connects with women.”

Kelly's arrival signaled an exit for the popular Tamron Hall in February. Hall is partnering with Weinstein Television for a new daytime talk show. Hall will co-create and executive produce, with former NBC Domestic Television Distribution president Barry Wallach on board to consult. No network is yet attached.

Rachel Maddow Conquers Cable News With Informed Facts, Analysis & Civic Truth

Rachel Maddows Conquers Cable News With Informed Facts, Analysis & Civic Truth

All key news channels have higher ratings in the time of Trump. But MSNBC as a network and Rachel Maddow as the front person for informed analysis and less spin -- in contrast to say the ego-consumed Chris Matthews on 'Hardball' -- is showing the boys club how it's done.

The July 21, 2017 Nielsen ratings put The Rachel Maddow show not only in a dominant position in the 9 pm time slot but with an audience that exceeded competitors Fox News  'The Five' and CNN's Anderson Cooper combined. Maddow clocked 2.938 million total viewers last Friday, compared to 1.987 million for Fox and 1.073 million for CNN.

Meet Emily Steel, Dedicated New York Times Reporter Who Is Bill O'Reilly Enemy #1

Meet Emily Steel, Dedicated New York Times Reporter Who Is Bill O'Reilly Enemy #1

Marie Claire interviews New York Times reporter Emily Steel, who insists "I'm not the story" when talking about Bill O'Reilly's epic fall at Fox News. Perhaps not, but the investigative research approach that she took, together with her Times colleague Michael S. Schmidt, was absolutely awesome, inventive, meticulous and truly original.

Three weeks ago, Steel and Schmidt dropped their explosive Times article, documenting settlements with at least five accusers over the last 15 years, to the hefty sum of $13 million. Within two days of their report, over 50 advertisers had fled O'Reilly's show. And now he's gone from his perch as the biggest anchor on cable TV.

America's President Donald Trump made it clear to the New York Times Wednesday that he stands with his friend Fox News's Bill O'Reilly, under fire over an expose about previously unknown Fox settlements over sexual harassment and sexual assault claims.

“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” said Mr. Trump, who during the interview was surrounded at his desk by a half-dozen of his highest-ranking aides, including the economic adviser Gary Cohn and the chief of staff, Reince Priebus, along with Vice President Mike Pence.

“I think he shouldn’t have settled; personally I think he shouldn’t have settled,” said Mr. Trump. “Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”

Erin Gloria Ryan responds gloriously for The Daily Beast: "In a life characterized by ideological, financial, and even marital inconsistency, there’s one thing President Donald Trump has remained fairly consistent on: defending men accused of sexual assault or harassment."

Melania Trump's First Lady Body Language Is Not Welcoming

Melania Trump Goes Arms-Crossed Defensive Pose, Putting Strong Barrier Between Her & American People

About those Crossed Arms

Both arms are folded together across the chest as an attempt to put a barrier between the person and someone or something they don't like. . . Crossed-Arms-on-Chest is universal and is decoded with the same defensive or negative meaning almost everywhere. It is commonly seen among strangers in public meetings, in queues or cafeteria lines, elevators or anywhere that people feel uncertain or insecure.

Bottom line with crossed-arms-on-chest main Melania Trump message: she's not coming out and you're not coming in.

When the crossed arms then become the Double-Arm-Grip as Melania Trump is posing, additional reinforcement is achieved in a form of self-hugging. Westside Toastmasters explains that in extended, hostile debates, the arms are easily gripped so tight that one's fingers and knuckles can turn white, with blood circulation being cut off. The pose shows a very negative attitude and definitely a message of "I do not want to be standing here."

Megyn Kelly Leaves FOX News For NBC, Rejecting $20 Million + Annual Pay Offer To Stay

Megyn Kelly Is Leaving Fox News for NBC The New York Times

One of Fox News biggest stars Megyn Kelly was been wooed to NBC News by chairman Andrew Lack.  Kelly's contract is said to be the biggest negotiation since Katie Couric moved to CBS News in 2006. The move is potentially crushing for Fox, with Kelly being the second-most watched host -- after Bill O'Reilly-- and comes after the recent departure of founding chairman Roger Ailes, who was ousted by Fox owners -- the Rupert Murdoch family -- after serious allegations of extreme sexual harassment by Ailes over decades.

The Murdoch family had offered Kelly over $20 million a year to stay at the network, an amount NBC said they could not match. Kelly responded that money was not her key issue, given the problems at Fox and also the contentious relationship between Megyn Kelly and president-elect Donald Trump.

Kelly will broadcast a Monday through Friday news show, a Sunday evening in-depth show (thankfully Madame Secretary has moved to 10 pm) and participate in all major political programming and big-evemt coverage at NBC.

Women's News | Roger Ailes & The Revenge of FOX News Women |

Women's News September 2, 2016  AOC Front Page

It took 15 days to end the mighty 20-year reign of Roger Ailes at Fox News, one of the most storied runs in media and political history. Ailes built not just a conservative cable news channel but something like a fourth branch of government; a propaganda arm for the GOP; an organization that determined Republican presidential candidates, sold wars, and decided the issues of the day for 2 million viewers. That the place turned out to be rife with grotesque abuses of power has left even its liberal critics stunned. More than two dozen women have come forward to accuse Ailes of sexual harassment, and what they have exposed is both a culture of misogyny and one of corruption and surveillance, smear campaigns and hush money with implications reaching far wider than one disturbed man at the top.
