New York Atty General Eric Schneiderman (NOW RESIGNED) Accused By Four Women Of Staggering Physical & Violent Abuse

New York Atty General Eric Schneiderman Accused By Four Women Of Staggering Physical & Violent Abuse

In a staggering article written by Jane Mayer and Ronan Farrow for The New Yorker, an explosive report released Monday evening, Eric Schneiderman, the Attorney General of New York has been accused of nonconsensual physical violence by four women with whom has has had romantic relationships or encounters.

Two of the four women, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, have talked to The New Yorker on the record, in order to protect other women.

"They allege that he repeatedly hit them, often after drinking, frequently in bed and never with their consent. Manning Barish and Selvaratnam categorize the abuse he inflicted on them as “assault.” They did not report their allegations to the police at the time, but both say that they eventually sought medical attention after having been slapped hard across the ear and face, and also choked. Selvaratnam says that Schneiderman warned her he could have her followed and her phones tapped, and both say that he threatened to kill them if they broke up with him."

A third former romantic partner of Schneiderman’s told Manning Barish and Selvaratnam that he also repeatedly subjected her to nonconsensual physical violence, but she told them that she is too frightened of him to come forward. (The New Yorker has independently vetted the accounts that they gave of her allegations.) A fourth woman, an attorney who has held prominent positions in the New York legal community, says that Schneiderman made an advance toward her; when she rebuffed him, he slapped her across the face with such force that it left a mark that lingered the next day. She recalls screaming in surprise and pain, and beginning to cry, and says that she felt frightened. She has asked to remain unidentified, but shared a photograph of the injury with 'The New Yorker'.

In a statement, Schneiderman said, “In the privacy of intimate relationships, I have engaged in role-playing and other consensual sexual activity. I have not assaulted anyone. I have never engaged in nonconsensual sex, which is a line I would not cross.”

Schneiderman's activism on behalf of feminist causes is legendary, and he has assumed an aggressive position in the investigation of Harvey Weinstein's activities in New York State.

Guided by the belief that "If a woman cannot control her body, she is not truly equal." Schneiderman has taken a particularly strong stand on behalf of women's reproductive rights. But, as Manning Barish sees it, “you cannot be a champion of women when you are hitting them and choking them in bed, and saying to them, ‘You’re a fucking whore.’ ” She says of Schneiderman’s involvement in the Weinstein investigation, “How can you put a perpetrator in charge of the country’s most important sexual-assault case?” Selvaratnam describes Schneiderman as “a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” figure, and says that seeing him lauded as a supporter of women has made her “feel sick,” adding, “This is a man who has staked his entire career, his personal narrative, on being a champion for women publicly. But he abuses them privately. He needs to be called out.”

Conservative Writer Kevin Williamson's Call For Lynching Women Who Have Abortions Ends Gig At The Atlantic

Conservative Writer Kevin Williamson's Call For Lynching Women Who Have Abortions Ends Gig At The Atlantic

Large numbers of liberals -- progressives with an open mind -- really do want to hear and read intelligent dissent from the opposition. But when in-the-know folks learned that conservative writer Kevin Williamson had been hired by The Atlantic, there were gasps. I -- for one -- am not keen to read anti-abortion views calling for the mass lynching of women who have abortions, a public stance Williamson has taken more than once.

Writing for The Daily BeastErin Gloria Ryan points out that a bit of due diligence by The Atlantic could have saved both Williamson and readers a whole lot of drama. Conservative pundits went crazy, arguing that contrary opinions were being silenced in liberal media. I left a comment on The Washington Post in their article Kevin Williamson loses Atlantic job after controversy over abortion rhetoric

As a woman forced into police protection for a year by a man who heard me say one word -- "yes" -- on a TV panel, when asked if I supported Roe, I'm not objective on this topic. Atlantic readers -- and I am one -- are not narrow-minded liberals for not wanting to hear that we should be hanged for having an abortion, when I already was judged deserving to die by a real man big-shot who took Williamson's words literally. This is Trump authoritarianism in high-gear. It's right-wing authoritarianism in high gear. 3 women die every day in America by intimate partners and husbands who talk big like Williamson. The reverse is not true. I freely admit that you scare the f##k out of me, okay? In defense of strong women, I will add that when the masked testosterone-infused chicken (the mask was pathetic) flew across my windshield as I backed out of a parking lot on a dark night, I put my car in gear and tried to run him over. 12 months of daily stalking rendered me a total basket case. Sobbing into the phone, I called the lieutenant at home -- he was so concerned about me that he gave me his home # -- saying "I don't know; I may have killed him." If this is what saying "yes" to a question about supporting a SC decision gets women in this country, I'd think Kevin Williamson should be neutered. How's that.

Betty Tompkins' Ballsy Feminist Art Project 'Women Words' Heads To Art Basel Dec 7-10

Betty Tompkins' Ballsy Feminist Art Project 'Women Words' Heads To Art Basel Dec 7-10

The rebellious, banned, ballsy and sometimes banned art of American feminist Betty Tompkins soars into relevancy in the age of Trump. Her big moment comes at the age of 72 and celebrates a project launched in 2010 as 'Women Words'.

In making my own short graphic post two days ago -- one in which I referenced graphic, slutty words about my own identity -- I was actually in sync with women worldwide who responded to Tompkins' invite for them to share phrases about women.

The answers were sent back from all over the world and were shocking - but not surprising - exposing the corrosive, endemic misogyny in our world. Tompkins made 1,000 paintings of the words, putting the writing on the wall in unflinching plain-speak.

Betty's project 'Women Words' will be front and center in Art Basel in early December. The timing couldn't be more perfect, and I will cover it in detail.

Wall Street's Howie Rubin Named In $27 Million Lawsuit Alleging Extreme BDSM Brutality & Rape

Well-known Wall Street portfolio manager Howie Rubin was named in a $27 million Brooklyn federal lawsuit filed Thursday. The New York Post broke the story in which Rubin, the legendary big shot featured in best-selling books 'Liar's Poker' and 'The Big Short', is charged with engaging in brutal sex with women paid between $2,000 and $5,000 per session.

The lawsuit alleges that the three plaintiffs -- including two Playboy Playmates -- allege that Rubin, the married father of three, gagged, tied up and viciously abused them in an $8 million penthouse in Manhattan's Metropolitan Tower with a side room fitted with ropes, chains, sex toys and other BDSM equipment.

“I’m going to rape you like I rape my daughter,” Rubin barked during one of the alleged assaults.

In one session, he beat one of the women’s “breasts so badly that her right implant flipped,” the papers state. The former Bear Stearns trader paid her $20,000 to repair the damage.

Congresswomen Jackie Speier & Brenda Lawrence Set To Deal With Capitol Hill's 'Toothless' . . Sexual Harassment Policy, 'A Joke'

Politico writes that two female lawmakers -- Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif) and Rep. Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich.) -- and several congressional staffers will are working on new legislation calling for an overhaul of the Congressional compliance office, in view of the landslide of sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations mounting across media, Hollywood, state politics and just about every American workplace from the New York/DC corridor to California -- with touchdowns also in middle America.

The compliance office is today "constructed to protect the institution -- and to impede the victim from getting justice," according to Congresswoman Speier. This is not her first attempt, having introduced the same bill every year since 2014.

“Many of us in Congress know what it’s like, because Congress has been a breeding ground for a hostile work environment for far too long,” Speier continued. “It’s time to throw back the curtain on the repulsive behavior that has thrived in the dark without consequences.”

Angelina Chapin Talks Why Harvey Weinstein Shoots Cum Into Potted Plants & Other Male Power Stories

Of course the title of The Cut's 'Why Men Force Women to Watch Them Masturbate' got my attention.  Lauren Sivan's story about Harvey Weinstein shooting cum into a potted plant at Socialista, demanding that she watch him after she rebuffed him, was front and center in my mind before thinking about my own man masturbating with the demand that I watch him on the New York subway.

Alrighty then, thanks to writer Angelina Chapin . . . here's an insightful, informative analysis of how crazy I must have driven the jerking off guy on the New York Subway as he was masturbating for many stops in front of me and I never looked up from my book. I did notice that the person sitting next to me moved, but even then I didn't look up because it was a REALLY good book. Everybody in the car was watching this incredible scene where this naked c#ck just couldn't get my attention. Imagine that! Shot down by a good book.

Study: Republican Men See Women Political Leaders As Less Competent & With Lower Integrity

Study: Republican Men See Women Political Leaders As Less Competent & With Lower Integrity

NPR reports on a new study analyzing data about Americans' attitudes toward their House of Representatives  members from 2010 through 2014. Ideally, the analysis would be more current, because the presidential election both confirmed and negated some of these conclusions.

Mia Costa and Brian Schaffner, political scientists from the U of Mass, Amherst concluded that women tend to think "more highly of female legislators on a variety of measures", regardless of party. Republican men express serious reservations about the women representing them, whereas Democratic men often rate women higher than men in governing.

The research isn't broken down by education, and I would argue here that high-school educated women tend to be more traditional in their beliefs that men should govern. These attitudes have been explored in depth post presidential election, like PRRI/Atlantic analysis and direct interviews with a large sampling of Trump voters.

In studying members of the House, and not the Senate, the research results are also impacted by districts that are seriously gerrymandered and representing rigid attitudes among both parties, and also racial attitudes. Within these caveats, Costa and Schaffner concluded:

"While Democratic men evaluate women legislators more favorably, the opposite is true for Republican men," the researchers write. "Republican men are the one group who provide lower evaluations of female elected officials."

Google Fires Men First Activist James Damore For His 10-Pg Rant On Female Inferiority

The now famous Google engineer James Damore is out of a job, although Julian Assange says that WikiLeaks would be offering the outspoken critic of women's brain power a job, writes Vanity Fair.

In a companywide email, Google’s chief executive, Sundar Pichai, said portions of the memo had crossed the company's code of conduct “by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace.”

“The memo has clearly impacted our co-workers, some of whom are hurting and feel judged based on their gender,” Mr. Pichai wrote. “Our co-workers shouldn’t have to worry that each time they open their mouths to speak in a meeting, they have to prove that they are not like the memo states, being ‘agreeable’ rather than ‘assertive,’ showing a ‘lower stress tolerance,’ or being ‘neurotic.’”

Damore's memo entitled 'Google's Ideological Echo Chamber' went viral over the weekend, as it condemned Google's "politically correct monoculture' that silences conservative viewpoints that embraces the biological differences between men and women.

White Male Google Engineer Writes 8-Pg Manifesto, Saying Women's Genetic Differences, Not Sexism, Is Their Problem

A white male engineer at Google's Mountain View office made big news this weekend, publishing an essay that blasted the company's efforts to recruit women, people of color and other minorities into its ranks and leadership positions.

The backlash has been ferocious, but many believe that the engineer's words reflect the widespread mentality among white men -- a totally dominant hierarchy in tech -- that women and other minorities do not have the mental capacity to meet the standards set by their superior white male minds and competencies.

GOP Congressman Blake Farenthold Didn't Wear His Ducky PJs To Challenge Sen. Collins, Murkowski & Capito To A Duel Over Obamacare Repeal

What do you think? I just suggested to my W. VA Dem friends, who are doing such a bang-up job at organizing in Trump country, that they respond to the big shot Texas Congressman Blake Farenthold, who says if the three Republican women Senators were men, he would challenge them to duels -- and presumably be the last man standing, writes the Texas Tribune.

If you remember, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Shelley Moore Capito of W. Va brought the Senate health care strategy to a screeching halt last week. Interviewed by local Corpus Christi radio host Bob Jones on Friday, Farenthold said: "Some of the people that are opposed to this, there are female senators from the Northeast... If it was a guy from South Texas, I might ask him to step outside and settle this Aaron Burr-style."

Many American high schools have also banned the book from its libraries, claiming the content is too sexually graphic. The American Library Association ranked it No. 88 on its list of most frequently challenged books from 2000 to 2009. The association maintains the list to keep track of books that are subject of attempted bans or censorship.

Boys Club Lectures Sen. Kamala Harris As Intelligence Heads Refuse To Answer Questions

On Wednesday the leaders of America's intelligence agencies appeared before members of the Senate Intelligence Committee for a hearing about Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election and any possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

It didn't go well, with the nation's top national intelligence leaders refusing to talk. They were not bound by any executive privilege claim by President Trump. Nor were they discussing classified information, which is not permitted in an open hearing.

Several senators were visibly and audibly upset with the immobile faces refusing to even utter 'yes' or 'no' to the senate panel that oversees them.  New Mexico's Dem. Sen. Martin Heinrich was aggressive with all the silent men who refused to speak, making a notable criticism of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein with the words "At this point, you filibuster better than most of my colleagues."

Advertisers Fleeing Bill O'Reilly Top 50, In Spite Of Trump Rallying Boys Club Behind FOX Anchor

America's President Donald Trump made it clear to the New York Times Wednesday that he stands with his friend Fox News's Bill O'Reilly, under fire over an expose about previously unknown Fox settlements over sexual harassment and sexual assault claims.

“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” said Mr. Trump, who during the interview was surrounded at his desk by a half-dozen of his highest-ranking aides, including the economic adviser Gary Cohn and the chief of staff, Reince Priebus, along with Vice President Mike Pence.

“I think he shouldn’t have settled; personally I think he shouldn’t have settled,” said Mr. Trump. “Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”

Erin Gloria Ryan responds gloriously for The Daily Beast: "In a life characterized by ideological, financial, and even marital inconsistency, there’s one thing President Donald Trump has remained fairly consistent on: defending men accused of sexual assault or harassment."

Savannah Cunningham, In Center Of Marine Online Misogyny Scandal, Starts Basic Training In April

Savannah Cunningham says that while she's been torn over how to respond to the online harassment, she decided to join the Marines because it was the most selective and demanding. She will work on a crew loading missiles on Cobra helicopters.

As her Twitter pics reveal, Cunningham has been working out intensely in preparation for Marine duty. "I wanted to make sure I could do anything male Marines could," she told the Times. "I didn't want anyone to hold me to a lower standard. "

While horrified by what happened to her and how a former close boyfriend shared a private strip tease video, Sav now dates a Marine sergeant and says the majority of male Marines she knows were totally disgusted by the photo sharing.

"We have to be positive examples of the change we want to see," she said. "Courage, integrity, honor: I want to live those values."

Military Nude Women Pics Scandal Expands With Calls For Marines To 'Share the Wealth'

'Fearless Girl' isn't the only one being metaphorically f#cked this week. The scandal and investigation into hundreds of Marines accused of sharing naked photographs of their female colleagues in a private Facebook group has widened.

Hundreds of nude photos of female service members from every military branch have been posted to an image-sharing message board -- Anon IB -- that dates back to at least May. In dozens of threaded conversations among men, many of them ask for 'wins' -- naked photographs -- of individual female service members, often calling out the women's names or where they are stationed.

This new allegation comes in the aftermath of a week-old explosive Facebook story published by Marine veteran Thomas Brennan, calling out a Facebook group called Marines United, home to about 30,000 members who were also sharing nude photos of women Marines and other female service members along with their personal information. Sometimes the comments included encouragement of sexual assault.

FEMEN Activist Grabs Trump's Crotch At Madrid's Statue Unveiling

Oh dear Goddess! Donald Trump must be seething. Perhaps his children can keep the president-elect from seeing this FEMEN activist grabbing the crotch of his highness -- sorry -- his likeness unveiled today at the Museo de Cera Madrid.  FEMEN is known in the women's rights community for its topless protests

The unnamed FEMEN member shouted "grab patriarchy by the balls," as she ran towards the statue of his highness and grabbed him by the balls.
