In her acceptance speech, Tory Burch share a founding story that resonates deeply today. ““When I was first launching the company, I presented my business plan to a group of men; they were the investors. They very concretely said to never mention the words business and social responsibility in the same sentence,” Burch said in her speech. “Of course, that only furthered my resolve. Vogue Hong Kong has launched as the 25th edition of the publication, with Gigi Hadid and Sun Feifei (aka Fei Fei Sun) covering the first issue, on sale today March 3, 2019 in Hong Kong..

Photographed by Nick Knight, the models each take a solo spot before appearing together on the third and final version. Both models wear Chanel Haute Couture, from Karl Lagerfeld’s last collection. The designer is prominently featured on the landing page of Vogue Hong Kong’s new website, as well as in the print publication.

The Vogue Hong Kong team will be led by Peter Wong, who assumes the role of Editorial Director. Joining Wong will be Senior Fashion Content Editor, Daniel Cheung, and Fashion Director, Anya Ziourov.

Speaking to WWD about about the decision to feature a western and an Asian model on the cover, Vogue Hong Kong publisher Desiree Au remarked that Hong Kong has "always been a mix of east and west".

"My team doesn't just extend to my work team," said Donatella Versace in an official statement about her massive Fall 2018 ad campaign, lensed by Steven Meisel. "The Versace Clans are made of all members of the Versace family — from customers to models, fans, photographers, stylists, friends, artists and all who believe that staying relevant means moving forward and making your voice heard — all who believe that fashion is not a way to just say 'look at me' but rather 'look at me, I have something to say.'"

Allure Magazine joins the movement towards a more inclusive perspective with its June 2018 issue with a focus on Asian models. In her editor’s letter and a series of tweets, Allure editor-in-chief Michelle Lee explained her personal motivations to include an all Asian cast for this month’s cover with a moment of reflection and an understanding that numbers mean more than empty words. Our decision to feature three Asian women got me thinking about when the last time was that Allure had an Asian woman on the cover, Lee explained before stating some pretty incredible facts. In 327 issues and over 28 years, there had only been two Asian women on the cover: Lucy Liu in 2000 and Olivia Munn, who’s part Chinese, in 2014. Not. good!
